Diagnostic Radiology Coder

• Review documentation for outpatient diagnostic and ancillary services in diagnostic radiology
• Meet performance standards for accurate and timely charge submission and coding for professional and facility services
• Maintain hourly productivity and quality standards
• Attend department meetings via conference call and Microsoft Teams
• Analyze medical records and abstract clinical data using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and/or HCPCS
• Review patient encounters for accurate diagnoses, procedures, and modifiers
• Check CCI bundling edits and NCD/LCD edits
• Enter codes into the client’s coding program for billing-file transfer and reimbursement
• Query managers when documentation or code assignments are inadequate, ambiguous, or unclear
• Apply LCD, NCD, and CCI guidelines
• Resolve claim, billing, edit, warning, and denial issues through documentation and code-assignment review
• Communicate coding, compliance, and documentation issues to the department manager
• Seek clarification from healthcare providers or designated resources
• Maintain coding knowledge through continuing education and pertinent literature
• Follow client-specific project guidelines while working with minimal supervision

Requirements

• 3-5 years of Diagnostic Radiology Coding experience
• 3M experience a plus
• Audit scored at 95% or better
• Maintain a production rate of 90% or higher
• Maintain strict confidentiality/follow HIPAA rules
• RCC, CPC or CCS-P or equivalent certification
• Moderate knowledge of level 1&2 modifiers
• Ability to code Level I, Duplex and Doppler ultrasounds, CTs/CTAs, MRIs, and Nuclear medicine at a minimum
• Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness
• Ability to understand and follow compliance issues of moderate complexity
• Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and resolve problems
• Moderate knowledge of CCI edits and LCDs
• Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with co-workers
• Conduct self in an ethical, honest, and professional manner
• Must be a US resident residing in Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Texas
• Coding Assessment Test administered before initial pre-screen
