  • Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for the Raising Child Care Fund
  • Lead fundraising and strengthen RCCF's philanthropic constituency
  • Lead RCCF's grantmaking strategy, including geographic priorities, organizing capacity, and equitable investment
  • Cultivate trusted relationships with grantee partners and collaborate with national, state, and local partners
  • Ensure grantee perspectives inform strategy and grantmaking
  • Develop and execute a fundraising strategy for financial sustainability and expanded funder support
  • Cultivate and steward current and prospective funder relationships
  • Develop funding opportunities and proposals and oversee reporting and funder commitments
  • Lead funder engagement and education on grassroots organizing, power building, and equitable grantmaking
  • Steward RCCF's budget and financial resources with ECFC Executive Director, TSNE fiscal staff, and the evolving governance structure
  • Translate strategic priorities into funding and grantmaking decisions
  • Lead RCCF staff and consultants by setting priorities, assessing capacity needs, and shaping team resources
  • Bridge philanthropy and grassroots movements to enable learning, collaboration, and aligned action
  • Shape communications and storytelling that elevate grantee work and demonstrate the impact of sustained organizing investment
  • Build partnerships with local, state, and national movement and advocacy organizations
  • Contribute RCCF's experience to ECFC's broader work through member learning, consultation, convenings, and field representation
  • Travel approximately 10-15% for funder and partner meetings, conferences, convenings, and other activities

Requirements

  • Significant leadership experience navigating complex organizations, partnerships, or movements
  • Deep understanding of grassroots organizing, power building, advocacy, and public policy
  • Experience in child care or a related field or movement; relevant adjacent experience is also considered
  • Demonstrated success cultivating philanthropic relationships and securing significant private funding for advocacy, organizing, policy, or movement-building work
  • Ability to make a compelling investment case and build relationships with funders across issue areas and priorities
  • Strong coalition leadership and relational skills
  • Experience building trust and collaborating with funders, organizers, advocates, community leaders, and other partners
  • Experience with grantmaking, pooled funds, philanthropic collaboratives, and/or collaborative governance
  • Understanding of equitable approaches to resourcing state and community organizations
  • Strategic leadership experience in complex, evolving environments
  • Ability to navigate uncertainty, make sound decisions, guide stakeholders through change, and translate strategy into action
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills
  • Ability to synthesize learning across partners and communicate with diverse audiences
  • Commitment to ECFC and RCCF's mission and values, including racial equity, shared power, transparency, learning, and respect for community expertise
  • Ability to maintain a home office conducive to productive work and virtual meetings
  • Ability to work most hours between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, with regular availability between noon and 5:00 p.m. ET
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
