- Responsibility for the accounting processes of multiple entities and ensuring complete and accurate financial reporting
- Managing the full month-end closing process, including the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and consolidation
- Preparing and analyzing profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses
- Leading an accounting team and supporting employees’ professional and personal development
- Continuously enhancing accounting processes, systems, and structures to improve efficiency
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal accounting policies
- Designing and optimizing internal control systems for financial reporting and accounting
- Analyzing variances, financial developments, and key performance indicators, and deriving recommendations for action
- Supporting budgets and forecasts in close collaboration with management and business functions
- Monitoring cash flow and budget variances and providing transparency for financial decision-making
- Supporting external audits and coordinating the timely provision of relevant documents and information
- Collaborating with international finance teams, management, and other business functions
Requirements
- Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in accounting and finance
- Experience with managerial or functional leadership responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB), ideally complemented by knowledge of IFRS and international accounting standards
- Ideally, experience with an audit firm or Big Four environment
- Experience with month-end closing, financial reporting, consolidation, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Strong analytical skills and confidence in interpreting complex financial data
- Experience optimizing accounting processes and internal control systems
- Leadership skills and the ability to motivate employees and support their professional development
- Structured, detail-oriented, and reliable working style
- Strong stakeholder management and international communication skills
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency with modern ERP and accounting systems
- Ideally, knowledge of Epicor and/or OneStream
