- Provide out-of-court legal advice and representation to members on all tenancy law matters
- Clarify rights and obligations arising from tenancy agreements
- Advise on rent increases, service charge statements, terminations, and housing defects
- Review and assess tenancy agreements
- Assist with correspondence with landlords
- Mediate disputes to achieve out-of-court settlements
- Plan and lead workshops and information events
- Create brochures, guides, and online content
- Advise the organisation’s administration on tenancy law matters
- Contribute to the development and updating of internal policies
- Conduct mediation proceedings, where qualified
- Contribute to the further development of the association’s policies and services
Requirements
- At least the First State Examination in Law
- The Second State Examination in Law is optional and considered an additional qualification
- Legal expertise in tenancy law
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to explain complex legal matters clearly and understandably
- Ability to provide advice and out-of-court representation in tenancy law matters
- Diplomatic skills for mediating between tenants and landlords
- Willingness to represent tenants’ interests publicly
- Mediation training is optional for conducting mediation proceedings
- Willingness to conduct information events and workshops
