- Process claims, manage accounts receivable, and maintain documentation in compliance with payer guidelines and OCHIN systems
- Investigate and resolve claim denials, identify trends, and contribute to process improvements that enhance reimbursement outcomes
- Communicate with team members and stakeholders to clarify billing requirements
- Track deadlines and plan billing activities for timely and efficient task completion
- Apply knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system and OCHIN solutions to billing operations
- Provide revenue cycle and account management services to OBS member clients, primarily supporting Acute Care
- Manage self-pay accounts and customer inquiries or handle daily claims production, including printing, mailing, and preparing clean-claim documentation
- Provide billing and customer service support to OBS member clinics and their patients
- Travel nationally for on-site Go Live support based on business requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Rural hospital experience required for Acute Care hospital work
- Epic experience highly preferred
- Provider-based, inpatient, surgery, or emergency room billing experience highly preferred
- Critical Access Hospital Billing experience highly preferred
- Experience in billing and/or coding revenue cycle experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, MVA, Workers Comp, and private insurance billing and reimbursement processes preferred
- Knowledge of legal requirements preferred
- FQHC/RHC experience and knowledge preferred
- Medical Billing Certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) preferred
- Completion of a 50–60-minute competency assessment required before the team interview
- Ability to work independently and efficiently from a home office environment
- High-speed internet service
- Ability to work in a distraction-free workplace
- Reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English
- Ability to work on camera for all virtual meetings
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required as a condition of employment
