- Serve as the highest escalation point under operations leadership for accommodation-related issues
- Manage complex, sensitive, executive, non-executive, and HR-for-HR accommodation cases
- Support new hire nesting through nesting plans, audits, and coaching
- Analyze regional quality, case volume, case types, approvals, and trends to recommend training and process improvements
- Manage workflow adjustments, out-of-office procedures, and work assignments
- Recommend training initiatives, provide survey feedback, and share best practices
- Coordinate return-to-work management with leave case managers and disability vendors
- Consult and coach HR partners, managers, employees, and accommodation specialists
- Provide information, referrals, and support regarding medical conditions, disabilities, accommodations, leave, and disability programs
- Facilitate escalated communication among employees, HR, managers, legal, and other stakeholders
- Coordinate with disability and leave services management and legal partners on escalated issues
- Manage behavioral health cases with discretion and appropriate escalation
- Assist in identifying essential and marginal job functions for accommodation decisions
- Conduct job site analyses to evaluate job demands and potential accommodations
- Explain work restrictions, functional limitations, and legal rights and responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate case records in case management systems and databases
- Monitor legislation and issues affecting disability access and workplace accommodations
- Assess training needs and deliver or support group training sessions
- Provide professional opinions and documentation for grievances, arbitration, depositions, and other forums
- Adhere to SLAs and quality standards while managing high-volume complex cases
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 3 years of experience in leave of absence, disability case management, ADA/ADAAA accommodations, human resources, or a closely related field
- Working knowledge of federal and state leave and disability regulations, including ADA/ADAAA and FMLA
- Experience managing cases from initiation through resolution in a case management system
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information clearly to employees, managers, and HR partners, both verbally and in writing
- Prior experience in disability accommodations, ADA compliance, or workplace accessibility
- Experience working with corporate or professional employee populations in a large, fast-paced organization
- Familiarity with internal accommodation case management platforms and related HR systems
- Understanding of medical documentation review, including interpreting physician notes related to functional limitations and work restrictions
- Experience using case management systems, HR tools, and the MS Office Suite
- Flexibility to meet service level expectations and manage urgent escalations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
