Lead Engineering Technologist – Design Automation Tools, Support

• Serve as the enterprise Subject Matter Expert for Autodesk Auto CAD Electrical, providing technical leadership, troubleshooting, application support, and strategic direction
• Own and maintain enterprise ACADE standards, templates, symbol libraries, catalogs, and engineering documentation
• Identify opportunities for design automation, standardization, and workflow optimization
• Evaluate, test, and implement software enhancements to improve engineering quality, productivity, and consistency
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coordination for Engineering Technologists
• Coordinate the enterprise SDS modernization program through implementation planning, stakeholder engagement, change management, and adoption of standardized design processes and tools
• Govern CAD standards, drafting requirements, and design automation best practices
• Develop and deliver technical training, implementation guides, job aids, troubleshooting resources, and user documentation
• Maintain knowledge repositories, training libraries, Share Point sites, and enterprise user support resources
• Serve as the primary contact for enterprise ACADE inquiries and coordinate support across user communities
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders on engineering workflows, data integration, requirements gathering, testing, implementation, and deployment
• Support integration between engineering design applications, asset management systems, and enterprise platforms
• Support and enhance workflow automation and business process solutions using Microsoft Power Platform technologies
• Assist with request management systems, forms, and workflow tools
• Identify automation opportunities that reduce manual effort and improve service delivery

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Engineering Technology and eight (8) years of related work experience
• Alternatively, High School/GED and ten (10) years of related work experience in lieu of the associate degree and eight years
• Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience with Autodesk Auto CAD Electrical
• Experience developing and supporting enterprise engineering standards, workflows, and technical documentation
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to provide technical leadership across multiple organizations and business functions
• Preferred experience in utility transmission or substation engineering
• Autodesk Auto CAD Electrical administration and configuration experience
• Experience developing and governing enterprise CAD standards
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor and other engineering design automation platforms
• Experience supporting engineering application integrations with enterprise business systems
• Experience administering Share Point sites and knowledge management platforms
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI
• Experience facilitating standards committees, governance teams, and cross-functional technical workgroups
• Experience developing enterprise training curricula, instructional materials, and technical learning programs
• Project management and change management experience supporting enterprise technology deployments
• Must be able to work lawfully in the United States without employment-based immigration sponsorship

• Ability to work from remote and onsite locations and live within a reasonable commute to a designated Duke Energy facility
• Travel requirements of 5-15%
