- Lead key financial reporting, accounting, and controllership activities supporting Aetna’s Medicare Supplement business
- Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance financial reporting processes, controls, and documentation
- Assist with system implementations, reporting enhancements, and process redesign projects
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes through automation, data analytics, and technology solutions
- Mentor and develop team members
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Partner with Finance, Actuarial, Operations, and business leaders
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, controllership, financial reporting, or financial analysis
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial close processes
- Experience managing complex accounting and reporting activities in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance requirements
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to build relationships and effectively partner across Finance, Actuarial, Operations, and business organizations
- Medicare, Medicare Supplement, healthcare, or insurance industry experience preferred
- Knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion, SmartView, SAP, or other enterprise financial systems preferred
- Experience with data analytics and automation tools such as SQL, Dataiku, Power BI, or similar technologies preferred
- Experience supporting finance transformation initiatives and process modernization efforts preferred
- Master’s degree or CPA license preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred; equal years of working experience may be considered
