- Support the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program by managing student preparedness for clinical rotations
- Facilitate preceptor engagement and oversee compliance and documentation processes
- Partner with faculty to ensure high-quality practicum experiences
- Serve as liaison among students, preceptors, clinical coordination staff, and academic leadership
- Provide structured support for practicum courses and ensure students meet practicum entry requirements
- Verify preceptor approvals, qualifications, and clinical site eligibility
- Support student clinical compliance and participate in disciplinary or appeal processes as needed
- Address instructional concerns with the Program Coordinator and faculty
- Evaluate clinical site quality, program alignment, and learning opportunities
- Provide instruction in assigned clinical or didactic courses
- Maintain timely grading, communication, and documentation
- Integrate evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and current literature into teaching and mentoring
- Oversee orientation, training, and ongoing support for practicum faculty
- Communicate policy updates, procedural changes, and clinical requirements
- Oversee practicum courses and support faculty and students in meeting course objectives and program outcomes
- Maintain professional relationships with preceptors
- Participate in Nursing Advisory Board meetings, accreditation preparation, and program evaluation initiatives
- Support development and implementation of practicum education policies
- Collaborate with nursing leadership on policy development, planning, and program evaluation
- Participate in assessment, planning, and continuous quality improvement efforts
- Adhere to institutional, departmental, affiliated-partner, and handbook policies
- Participate in process improvement and complete other assigned duties
Requirements
- A doctoral degree in nursing (DNP or PhD)
- Active board certification (AANP or ANCC) as a Family Nurse Practitioner
- Must have active unencumbered PA, LA, TN, and GA state APRN License (or willingness to obtain)
- Professional experience is required
- Minimum three years of full-time clinical experience in a professional setting in the role of a Family Nurse Practitioner
- Online teaching experience greatly preferred
- Experience in clinical teaching, preceptorship and/or student supervision preferred
- Experience with clinical documentation platforms (Typhon, CastleBranch, or equivalent) desirable
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote academic setting
