  • Review claim referrals to validate overpayments and ensure financial accuracy
  • Use data science tools to detect discrepancies and identify overpayment recovery opportunities
  • Coordinate additional investigations with internal claim partners
  • Execute strategic overpayment recovery plans aligned with organizational goals
  • Develop and implement recovery strategies for overpaid amounts from clients, vendors and other parties
  • Negotiate repayment plans and settlements in compliance with policies and legal requirements
  • Monitor recoveries and key performance metrics using data dashboards
  • Manage a high-volume caseload and maintain timely follow-up communication
  • Deliver customer service while balancing empathy and efficiency
  • Manage customer expectations and complex negotiations
  • Participate in problem-solving and process improvement
  • Use advanced data analytics to identify root causes and overpayment patterns
  • Document and update standard operating procedures
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies
  • Attend training sessions, workshops and field huddles
  • Educate field business partners on overpayment trends, prevention and recovery processes
  • Share knowledge with team members
  • Serve as primary contact for internal and external business partners regarding overpayment issues
  • Provide guidance on overpayment processes and best practices
  • Coordinate with finance, claims, customer service and legal departments
  • Ensure compliance with company, regulatory and jurisdictional requirements
  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes affecting Group Benefits and overpayments
  • Interpret policy language regarding overpayment recovery rights
  • Collaborate with legal on complex disputes, settlements and challenges

Requirements

  • Understanding of Group Benefits claims and leading indicators of overpayment preferred
  • Proficiency in Group Benefits claim systems including DCS, THAA and PeopleSoft preferred
  • Consistent high level of performance and achievement over career span
  • Ability to exceed metrics and motivation to achieve high personal achievement
  • Ability to build successful relationships with field partners and claimants
  • Strong desk management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a proven track record of delivering results
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional writing skills to communicate and negotiate with claimants and attorneys professionally
  • High School diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of prior claim or collections experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred
  • Candidates near an office location must work in the office 3 days a week, Tuesday through Thursday
  • Remote candidates not near an office must come into an office as business needs arise
