- Review plans, calculations and specifications for compliance with the most current adopted ordinances, laws, and state building codes
- Prepare plans review comment letters according to municipality direction and SCA standards
- Meet and confer with clients as needed via phone, email, virtual meeting, or in-person to clarify plan check comments
Requirements
- Professional Civil or Structural Engineer
- ICC Certified Plans Examiner with complete knowledge and full understanding of the International model building codes and standard construction methods
- Ability to review all structural systems and additional building systems as needed (i.e., architectural, accessibility, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, energy, and green/sustainability)
- Minimum 2 years of experience working for an engineering design firm or alternatively 2 (or more) years working as a Plan Check Engineer for a jurisdiction providing design or plan check reviews for both commercial and residential project types
- Basic computer knowledge related to Microsoft Office products and various plan review software such as BlueBeam (or similar AutoCad based products)
- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited college
- Must successfully complete standard background investigation
- Full-time availability
- Must be based within California, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, or Nevada
