- Conduct applied research on risk management, insurance, and insurance regulation
- Work closely with CIPR researchers and other NAIC staff on ongoing projects
- Pursue related independent research interests during dedicated research time
- Present research results clearly in written and oral form
- Publish work in peer-reviewed journals
- Present at academic conferences
- Develop collaborations with external scholars
- Contribute to interdisciplinary discussions on risk, insurance, and public policy
Requirements
- Ph.D. from an accredited institution in economics, finance, risk management and insurance, or a related field, received within the past two years
- Ph.D. expected completion by fall 2026 is acceptable
- Expertise and interest in quantitative analysis of issues related to risk management, insurance, and insurance regulation
- Strong skills in data analysis and econometric/statistical modeling
- Clear and concise presentation of research results in written and oral form
- Preferred proficiency in advanced data science applications, including SQL, R, Python, SAS, Tableau, artificial intelligence and machine learning, VBA, and GIS
- Cover letter detailing interest and fit

- One or two representative publications or working papers
- At least one letter of recommendation
