- Work with designers, engineers, product managers, and lab operations to develop software solutions
- Develop strategy and roadmap for development teams
- Communicate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather backlog inputs and gain buy-in for prioritized deliverables
- Transform business, market, and clinical requirements into executable product requirements
- Own and prioritize the feature backlog in alignment with the strategic roadmap
- Produce flow diagrams, data models, pros/cons analyses, prototypes, AI-assisted sandbox prototypes, and other illustrations
- Define and measure success for the product area
- Incorporate quality into product design and collaborate with development and software quality assurance teams on product and process improvements
- Evangelize product work across the organization, drive integration, and ensure positive impact
- Own the product roadmap and backlog with all technical requirements
- Translate and document detailed use cases and software product requirements to drive prioritization and solution decisions
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in software product management, ideally in the healthcare IT or biotech industry; genetic testing experience is a bonus
- Experience with Agile software development, working directly with engineering development and QA teams
- Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, relationship-building, and analytical skills
- Experience building scalable enterprise software or business-critical systems
- Willingness and confidence to experiment hands-on with AI tools to create quick proof-of-concept prototypes
- BA/BS degree in a relevant technical, scientific, or quantitative discipline or relevant experience
- Ability to understand and describe technical complexities in a simplified way for different audiences
- Ability to break down large projects into granular milestones and track progress
- AI fluency and judgment about when to act as a builder
- Ability to collaborate, interact effectively, and influence across functional areas and team environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Customer research and survey skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of products and markets, or ability to learn quickly
