  • Develop, implement, and manage the company’s supplier approval and compliance program using a supplier compliance software tool
  • Oversee qualification, approval, monitoring, and ongoing compliance of suppliers, vendors, and co-manufacturers
  • Serve as corporate owner of supplier quality software configuration, supplier hazard analysis, risk management, onsite audits, supplier approval processes, compliance documentation, performance monitoring, scorecarding, continuous improvement, and CAPA management
  • Ensure suppliers meet company, FSMA, food safety, quality, sustainability, and customer requirements and keep the company audit-ready
  • Provide input and decision‑making support regarding suppliers and product disposition
  • Conduct supplier audits and serve as an alternate for co‑manufacturing location audits and crisis management
  • Manage supplier and vendor qualification requirements and define approval criteria based on risk level and supplier category
  • Maintain Approved Vendor Lists and manage supplier onboarding and compliance statuses
  • Configure and improve TraceGains or equivalent workflows, attributes, alerts, notifications, and dashboards
  • Monitor supplier records, document statuses, expirations, document reviews, and risk assessments
  • Review GFSI audit reports, CAPAs, HACCP/HARPC programs, allergen programs, recall plans, traceability exercises, questionnaires, certifications, labels, SDS, specifications, food‑contact documentation, food defense materials, and COAs
  • Generate compliance and performance reports for management review
  • Lead system enhancement initiatives and user training
  • Conduct supplier risk assessments and lead ingredient and supplier food fraud vulnerability assessments
  • Support food defense and intentional adulteration risk assessments
  • Manage SCAR processes from issuance through closure and evaluate CAPA effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain risk‑based supplier audit programs
  • Conduct onsite and remote supplier and co‑manufacturer audits as necessary
  • Partner with Procurement on supplier scorecards and Quarterly Business Reviews
  • Investigate supplier‑related quality and food safety incidents and participate in crisis management
  • Support traceability exercises and mock recalls
  • Support SAP PDM systems through document retention, specification creation, and revision
  • Partner with corporate and facility FS/QA, Procurement, Supply Chain, R&D, Regulatory, and Legal teams
  • Set goals, track progress, exercise sound judgment, and connect deliverables to organizational goals

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology or related discipline
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in quality assurance
  • Highly skilled and experienced in supplier compliance tool like Trace Gains
  • Experience auditing food manufacturing sites, warehouse/storage areas
  • Ability to travel 25%
  • Experience in food processing, sanitation, quality assurance, and production statistics
  • Experience in general manufacturing practices for food processing
  • Experience in/knowledge of sanitation concepts, environmental controls and monitoring
  • Experience with cross‑functional teams
  • GFSI and BRC Standards
  • Ability to multi‑task and remain flexible
  • Effective oral and written communication skills for communication with executive management, outside vendors, and major customers
  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office products)
  • SAP experience or similar preferred
  • Ability to work in a drug‑free workplace and satisfy employment authorization verification requirements where applicable
