- Direct day-to-day operations of Jefferson retirement plans
- Mentor, coach, train, support, and guide retirement team members
- Establish team expectations and goals and resolve escalated benefit issues
- Ensure compliance and effectiveness of defined benefit, defined contribution, and 457(b) plans
- Develop communication strategies with internal and external partners to improve employee experience
- Serve as subject matter expert and point of contact for escalated retirement‑benefit inquiries
- Investigate and resolve retirement benefits issues with internal and external partners
- Interpret and communicate plan provisions through plan documents and summary plan descriptions
- Manage retirement‑benefit vendors and outsourced benefit programs
- Support implementation and administration of new retirement benefits programs
- Monitor ongoing retirement benefits operations and resolve issues proactively
- Track national retirement-program trends and ensure retirement benefits data accuracy in HRIS
- Collaborate with payroll and Human Resources teams
- Research retirement‑benefit issues, identify root causes, and recommend resolutions
- Provide strategic leadership, knowledge sharing, and process documentation for the Retirement Team
- Collaborate with the AVP of Retirement on retirement strategy
- Align retirement plans with enterprise strategic and business objectives
- Identify process improvements and program enhancements
- Leverage technology to improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- 5 years in Retirement Benefits Management and Administration
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and attention-to-detail skills
- Experience working with an enterprise human capital management system
- Skilled in process management
- Ability to listen actively, communicate clearly and empathetically, take responsibility, adapt, and exercise self‑control under pressure
- Working knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee retirement benefits programs, including ERISA, Social Security, and DOL requirements
- Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs.; frequent sitting/standing and keyboard use
- Master's Degree in human resources, business, or related field preferred
- PHR, CP, or CEBS certifications preferred
