- Support agency business owners who operate as independent contractors
- Coach and advise agency business owners on building the district's profit and growth plan
- Recruit agency owners to become captive agents
- Influence performance results for independent contractors
- Connect corporate strategy with agency practices and results
- Provide guidance on sales results and execution of the state sales plan
- Assist agency owners in understanding district profit while preserving their business control
- Manage company programs for individual independent agency business owners
- Help agency owners target and prioritize sales activities and market opportunities
- Provide business expertise supporting successful agency operations
- Source and select agency business owners to fill openings
- Build relationships with agency owners and staff
- Report to the Minnesota State Director
- Spend approximately 70% of time in the field, working directly with customers, agents and agency staff
- Attend occasional office-based team meetings, trainings and culture events
- Participate in in-person New Employee Orientation at Madison, WI Headquarters or another American Family Insurance core location, with virtual delivery possible
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support and service
- Basic knowledge and understanding of business systems and leveraging them for efficiency
- Prior management experience or demonstrated experience leading project teams
- Solid knowledge of project management methodologies, practices, techniques and tools
- Solid knowledge and understanding of financial analysis and reporting
- Prior experience developing and executing operational business plans and marketing plans
- Solid knowledge and understanding of budget management concepts
- Previous agency experience or experience leading or influencing agency owners in the field preferred
- Reside in the district; ideal target is Twin Cities Metro - Minneapolis / St. Paul, MN
- Required insurance licensing: Property and Casualty (personal lines authority does not qualify), Life, and Health
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Up to 50% travel
- Successful applicable background checks
- Signing a non-disclosure agreement for proprietary information, trade secrets, and inventions
- Sponsorship will not be considered unless specified in the posting
