Sales Engineer, Bilingual in Mandarin

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, primarily in Western Pennsylvania
  • Nurture relationships with existing customers
  • Develop additional sales opportunities throughout Pennsylvania and, where appropriate, New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware
  • Analyze market trends and report findings to management for sales strategy optimization
  • Manage the full sales process from lead generation through qualification and deal closure
  • Meet or exceed sales targets
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and Service teams to meet customer needs and resolve issues
  • Provide technical support, troubleshoot product issues, and recommend improved materials or machinery
  • Assist with organizing and attending trade shows, conferences, and promotional events
  • Visit customer sites throughout the assigned territory
  • Work with parent-company Product teams on technical requirements for equipment and proposals
  • Prepare and deliver detailed proposals and presentations based on customer specifications
  • Coordinate administrative processes during the sales cycle
  • Report sales progress and challenges to the supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Strong self-motivation and proactive approach, with excellent business communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English
  • Basic communication skills in Mandarin Chinese
  • Must reside in Pennsylvania or be willing to relocate to Pennsylvania
  • Ability to travel for overnight business approximately 25% of the time within the assigned territory
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and creating reports and presentations
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, including coordination across time zones
  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside regular business hours
  • Experience managing cross-departmental workflows and processes
  • Bachelor’s degree or above
  • 2–10 years of experience in sales or technical roles within the machine tool or manufacturing industry
  • Ability to work under pressure and ambiguity
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience selling laser cutting machines or other CNC machinery
  • Preferred: Prior experience working in a cross-cultural, multinational company environment
  • Preferred: Currently based in or near Pittsburgh or Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
  • Preferred: Familiarity with the manufacturing and industrial customer base in Pennsylvania and the surrounding Mid-Atlantic region
  • Background checks and drug screening in accordance with company policies and federal and state guidelines
