- Implement new processes and improve financial controls to ensure the health and stability of the increasingly complex business
- Own and drive financial planning and budgeting processes
- Determine resource allocation and guide Ethos’ growth and trajectory
- Develop and monitor critical financial performance metrics
- Drive corporate reporting requirements to the Board of Directors and Executive Team, including company-level KPI tracking, performance to plan, and budget-versus-actual variance analysis
- Contribute to the design and implementation of accounting and planning tools such as NetSuite and Pigment
- Drive strategic and operational initiatives
- Deliver business analytics and insights for decision‑making related to unit economics, customer acquisition, operations, core business expansion, and new opportunities
- Apply data‑driven analysis to influence decisions and support leadership in evaluating strategic initiatives
- Scale and improve corporate finance functions
- Work with business partners to develop strategic analyses on key business initiatives
Requirements
- A minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience in Corporate Finance / FP&A / Strategic Finance, preferably including 3+ years at publicly traded companies or late stage pre‑IPO companies
- Prior experience in investment banking and/or private equity / growth equity is a plus
- Best‑in‑class Excel skills and extensive experience developing insightful financial models and quantitative analyses
- Strong critical thinking and sound business judgment
- Prior experience building and leading finance teams
- Proven track record of identifying and deploying AI tools in finance workflows to improve efficiency and decision‑making
- Expert in building new processes in an enterprise financial planning system (e.g., Adaptive, Anaplan)
- Motivated self‑starter with a track record of success and ability to juggle multiple projects/tasks while hitting deadlines
- Desire to own and drive projects from Day 1
- Excellent communication skills and effective cross‑functional collaboration
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Deep understanding of valuation methods and strong working knowledge of GAAP
