- Manage account risk portfolio and provide account-level engineering to meet underwriting requirements
- Develop and implement customer service strategies that reduce loss, improve customer safety operations, and generate service fees
- Support underwriting teams by providing risk assessments on existing and prospective accounts
- Attend customer and broker meetings to present service capabilities
- Monitor engineering services to ensure delivery is proper, timely, and cost-effective
- Perform field risk assessments to evaluate casualty and environmental exposures and control effectiveness at insured locations across the United States, primarily in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana
- Provide consultative and risk mitigation services to customers
- Identify exposures with significant loss potential
- Conduct root cause investigations of major losses
- Evaluate safety management programs
- Assist in marketing risk engineering services with underwriting professionals and agents across company business segments
- Service customers within the U.S. with expected travel up to 50%
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Energy Casualty Risk Engineering area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Energy Casualty Risk Engineering area OR Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an associate's degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Energy Casualty Risk Engineering area
- Experience working in a team environment
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or OGP EHS
- 5+ years in downstream, midstream, and/or upstream operations
- Insurance loss control/risk engineering experience is a plus
- Strong consultative, risk reduction skills
- Sales mindset; fee-for-service experience a plus
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Proficient computer and software skills
- Self-starter; works independently, and takes initiative
- Customer-centric and relationship oriented with both internal and external stakeholders
- Oil and gas expertise with practical risk insights
- Strong time management, report turnaround, and follow-up
- Comfortable presenting to groups at all business levels
- Familiar with OSHA, DOT, OGP safety, and fleet programs
