- Support Sustainable Building Technologies project development throughout North America
- Provide engineering support for the sales team on central plant design and optimization projects
- Support Public, Federal, and Commercial & Industrial markets
- Use subject matter expertise to influence customers toward Honeywell solutions
- Provide external and internal consultations
- Help develop and maintain product messaging, customer support, and training
- Foster cross-functional alignment with customer needs
- Participate in pursuit strategy planning and customer negotiations
- Apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid-systems knowledge
- Read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and technical drawings
- Generate conceptual schematic designs for preliminary cost estimating
- Analyze energy metering, performance trends, and data
- Calculate annual energy consumption for central heating/cooling and CHP plants
- Develop detailed savings calculations for proposed solutions
- Generate 30-year life-cycle cost analyses for new or modified plants
- Create comprehensive internal and external scopes of work
- Perform root-cause analysis and develop solutions for plant and CHP-system performance issues
- Engage in customer-facing activities and present technical briefings
- Analyze growth opportunities and review proposal activities
- Develop and champion sales training
- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers
- Travel approximately 30%
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
- 10 years or more of experience with central heating/cooling plants and CHP systems
- Hands‑on experience with boilers, chillers, cooling towers, hydronic/steam systems, etc.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Knowledge of ASME, NFPA, UFC, and international mechanical codes
- Project development experience with $1M–$20M+ project sizes
- Professional certifications such as CEM or LEED‑AP
- Experience with steam and/or gas turbine generation and thermal energy storage
- Experience with traditional building HVAC and control systems
- Familiarity with industry regulatory requirements and future mandates
- Familiarity with energy and carbon reduction project grants and incentive programs
- U.S. citizenship required due to U.S. federal contract requirements
- Ability to develop and foster strong customer relationships
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and proposal preparation
- Ability to achieve results through influence in a matrixed-team environment
