Senior Front End Engineer

• Design and implement complex, performant, accessible features and interaction flows in the React Native mobile application
• Lead technical design and implementation of complex features end-to-end, from product requirements through deployment and monitoring
• Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize rendering, reduce bundle size, and improve mobile app responsiveness
• Propose and drive architectural decisions, evaluate tradeoffs, and communicate technical recommendations
• Mentor Software Engineers I, II, and III through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance
• Define, advocate for, and improve engineering practices around component architecture, testing, accessibility, and mobile deployment
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA, and engineering teams to translate product goals into technical solutions
• Participate in the on-call rotation, contribute to root cause analysis, and improve long-term reliability

Requirements

• 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience, with significant time building production React Native applications
• Proven track record of owning and delivering complex, multi-component mobile features in a team environment
• Experience with the full mobile development lifecycle — from development through app store submission and post-release monitoring
• Experience building mobile applications backed by large-scale, high-throughput distributed systems serving millions of users
• Expert-level TypeScript proficiency — clean, type-safe, well-tested production code
• Deep React Native expertise, including performance optimization, native module integration, complex animations, and platform-specific considerations
• Strong experience with Expo and its ecosystem
• Proficiency with monorepo tooling (Yarn workspaces or similar)
• Solid understanding of mobile testing strategies, including Jest and experience with Maestro for E2E testing
• Experience with CI/CD for mobile and Expo/EAS workflows, including build pipelines, OTA updates, and app store deployment
• Understanding of mobile observability, including crash reporting, performance monitoring, and analytics integration
• Comfortable working autonomously with minimal direction on ambiguous problems
• Effective communicator able to articulate technical decisions to engineers and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working in a fully remote engineering organization
• Able to context-switch between deep technical work and collaborative planning
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools across coding, planning, scoping, and code review is a standout qualification
• Experience integrating AI tooling into engineering workflows is a standout qualification
