Senior Software Engineer – Embedded Application

Work within the engineering department in a SCRUM team using an Agile framework
Participate in specification, design, development, testing, and support of satellite communications system features from concept through completion
Analyze requirements and RFCs and develop efficient software designs
Participate in determining the future direction of the satellite system and related products across software architecture, infrastructure performance, testing, and reliability
Document, design, develop, test, and integrate software functionality for satellite-system components and related environments
Collaborate on design and validation with a multifunctional Scrum team of software, firmware, embedded, application, and test engineers
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during deployment of software solutions
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electronics and communication engineering, information technology, a related subject area, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years hands-on C/C++ software development experience
• Ability to design, implement, debug, and maintain PHY-MAC control-plane software on embedded ARM/Linux or X86 platforms
• Experience developing and optimizing real-time signal-processing algorithms on programmable DSP processors such as CEVA, NXP, or similar architectures
• Strong programming experience with Vector C/C++, including SIMD/vectorization and DSP algorithm optimization
• Experience implementing fixed-point DSP and digital communications algorithms on programmable DSP platforms
• Experience with development, debugging, profiling, and performance optimization tools for programmable DSP processors
• Experience integrating DSP-based PHY implementations with higher-layer software, MAC/control software, FPGA interfaces, and embedded ARM processors
• Familiarity with 5G NR/5G NTN MAC and PHY-MAC interactions
• Experience solving real-time embedded issues in multi-core/multi-CPU environments, including threading, optimization, memory management, and interrupt handling
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and sockets programming
• Understanding of 3GPP standards and 5G architecture
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS/Azure
• Strong problem-solving, communication, presentation, documentation, and writing skills
• Self-motivated, with technical leadership potential and success in a structured development environment
• Ability to drive technical solutions collaboratively
• Strong software design skills, Object-Oriented Design, and Object-Oriented Programming
• Experience developing quality, maintainable software

• Experience with satellite/terrestrial communications systems

• Experience developing unit, integration, and functional tests and test automation in a CI/CD pipeline
• Shell scripting or Python experience
• May be required to provide information for export-control, security-clearance, or other regulatory determinations
