- Act as a strategic pre-sales engineering resource for data center and hybrid cloud solutions
- Meet with customers to collect requirements for infrastructure solutions
- Present and explain technologies to customers, guide requirements gathering, and formulate solutions involving hardware, software, licensing, and engineering services
- Create detailed solution designs and architectures and present them to customers
- Create bills of materials and configurations for solutions
- Work with Account Managers and Sales Teams to develop customer relationships and sales solutions
- Create customer-facing presentations and perform product demonstrations
- Build scopes of services, task lists, and professional service pricing
- Collaborate with vendor peers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
- 7+ years of architecting and implementing complex Data Center solutions
- Strong experience with Dell EMC (Servers, Storage and Data Protection), Cisco (servers & FC switching) and/or VMware (virtualization and SDDC)
- Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) experience with VxRail, HyperFlex and/or Nutanix
- Proven design, sizing and implementation experience with server compute, data protection and storage solutions
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, and ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
- Preferred: presales experience
- Preferred: Data Protection experience with Veeam, Rubrik or Cohesity
- Preferred: AWS and/or Azure experience and certifications
- Preferred: Enterprise Networking knowledge and experience (Cisco/Juniper)
- Preferred: Prior experience working for a system integrator or consulting organization
- Preferred: Experience migrating on-premise to on-premise environments or on-premise to any cloud environment
- Preferred: Basic knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
- Preferred: Basic knowledge of container orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
