Resolve telephone and written provider claims-related service inquiries
Respond to providers’ benefit-related issues and questions
Address corporate policies and guidelines, timely filing, account receivables, and claims processing inquiries
Represent the Provider Services team through appropriate telephone techniques and written responses
Participate in a phased new-hire training program covering the health insurance industry
Take provider calls most of each week
Dedicate specific time to learning, development, and research supporting career growth
Work in a structured, supportive, fast-paced, unscripted service center environment
Work a fixed shift with scheduled lunches and breaks
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ years customer service experience with frequent communication (minimum 60% of time) by phone, email, and/or in person
- Strong familiarity and comfort with technology, including Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and software
- Experience in fast-paced, unscripted service-first environments highly preferred
- Frequent speaking and phone use with providers
- Ability to use a headset in an environment free from distractions
- Ability to sit for long periods and work at a computer
- Ability to establish an ergonomically comfortable, distraction-free remote work environment
- Adherence to BCBSMA’s Hybrid Working Guidelines, including video participation in trainings and meetings
