- Assist the MEP Project Manager with locating and evaluating subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Develop scopes of work, project schedules, estimates, bids, and change orders for MEP work
- Coordinate and manage all trades and on-site construction activities from pre-start-up through completion
- Select qualified bidders and negotiate final prices
- Prepare cost-to-complete, monthly billing, status, progress, materials, and cost reports
- Review and coordinate P&IDs, mechanical, electrical, shop, architectural, and structural drawings
- Schedule subcontractors and track productivity and installed quantities
- Determine and procure required materials, equipment, tools, and supply sources
- Set up and close out construction sites
- Serve as on-site Safety Officer when one is not assigned and implement Gray's safety program
- Participate in the company's safety portion of the QMS program and maintain QMS reports and traceability
- Direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors, coordinate construction phases, and prevent delays
- Resolve workforce complaints and grievances
- Adjust work schedules based on reports and direction from the MEP Project Manager
- Establish and maintain company, industry, and job-specification safety and quality standards
- Ensure customer satisfaction
- Lead subordinate supervisors and support staff; interview, hire, train, assign, direct, and appraise team members
- Train newer team members
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience, or a minimum of 15 years related construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree
- Experience within the light/heavy industrial sector highly desired
- Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents
- Strong people management skills
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, tablets, and smartphones
- MS Project and other scheduling software a plus
- Strong work ethic; energetic, self-motivated, collaborative, and committed to professional development
- Ability to think independently and manage without constant direction
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship
- Selected candidate can live anywhere in the USA and must travel to project sites throughout the United States and, in some cases, outside the U.S.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including frequently lifting/moving up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs
- Ability to work in outdoor, wet/humid, mechanically active, high, noisy, hot/cold, electrical, explosive, and vibrating environments
- Overtime may be required
