Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, intervention, and longitudinal care for adults with progressive neurodegenerative conditions through a fully remote telehealth model
  • Conduct virtual speech, language, cognitive-communication, motor speech, voice, and dysphagia-risk evaluations
  • Use standardized assessments and functional task analysis adapted for telehealth
  • Interpret findings, establish diagnostic impressions, identify functional goals, and formulate measurable patient-centered treatment plans
  • Recognize when additional assessment, referral, or Senior SLP consultation is warranted
  • Deliver evidence-based cognitive-communication, motor speech, voice banking, message banking, AAC, and dysphagia-related interventions
  • Adapt intervention plans as clinical needs, functional priorities, and disease stages change
  • Educate caregivers and family members on communication strategies, cueing techniques, and environmental modifications
  • Collaborate with neurologists, care coordinators, behavioral health providers, and senior SLPs
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences, clinical consultation, and case review
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential EMR documentation in compliance with ASHA standards, HIPAA, state licensure rules, and payer requirements
  • Complete evaluations, session notes, progress reports, and AAC funding packets within required timelines
  • Manage a varied caseload including Parkinson’s disease, ALS, Huntington’s disease, FTD/PPA variants, and related neurologic conditions

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (M.A. or M.S.) in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
  • Active state license, or eligibility for licensure, in at least one US state; willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed
  • 3-5+ years of clinical experience as a licensed SLP
  • At least 1-2 years of direct experience working with adult neurodegenerative populations
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Basic AAC technology proficiency
  • Proficiency with remote/telepractice software
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Active LSVT LOUD or SPEAK OUT! certification preferred, or willingness to complete training within 90 days of hire
  • Familiarity with multi-state telepractice delivery and virtual service workflows preferred
  • Exposure to AAC evaluation, device trials, and funding documentation preferred
  • Clinical experience in specialized outpatient clinic, memory care, or multidisciplinary neuro clinic settings preferred
  • Must be able to work in the United States; Synapticure is unable to provide work visa sponsorship
