- Perform accurate take-offs using Excel
- Prepare and submit detailed steel estimates, including weight, materials, painting, and welding quantities
- Utilise Excel templates and associated playbooks to create cost models and project budgets
- Interpret 3D drawings and technical plans for structural and architectural steel estimations
- Develop and improve estimation processes and systems
- Work with Adobe, CRM, and Microsoft SharePoint tools to collaborate and manage version control
- Monitor industry trends, material costs, and project specifications to maintain competitive pricing
- Attend internal calls to align on project priorities and deadlines
- Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and clients on estimations
- Support scaling quoting capacity and business growth targets
- Perform other position-level duties as they arise
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in steel estimation
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is preferred
- Experience with take-offs using Excel is essential
- Strong understanding of structural and architectural steel components and projects is essential
- Ability to interpret 3D drawings and technical documentation is essential
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and cost modelling is essential
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail, are essential
- Effective communication and collaboration skills are essential
- Familiarity with CRM tools for data tracking is desirable
