Responsibilities
Technical procurement & engineering interface Analysis of requirement specifications (URS / SRM), technical specifications and engineering drawings Early involvement in product development projects (design-to-cost, make-or-buy) and standardization Evaluation of technical equivalences and alternative solutions Tendering & benchmarking Structured preparation of RFQ/RFP documentation for complex system deliveries Definition of evaluation criteria: technical performance, price, delivery time, quality, references Conducting market benchmarks and competitor comparisons (min. 3 offers) Preparation of decision papers for relevant stakeholders Independent negotiation and drafting of supply contracts Review of supplier contracts for legal and commercial risks Requirements
Degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automation or equivalent Further training in procurement/SCM and/or contract law is an advantage Additional business administration qualification (CAS, MBA, or similar) desirable 7–12 years' professional experience in mechanical engineering At least 5 years in strategic procurement of technical systems Experience in drafting and negotiating supply, framework and works contracts Experience in special-purpose machinery, automation technology, packaging technology or similar Hands‑on experience conducting structured tenders and benchmarks for make-or-buy decisions and technical alternative assessments
