- Handle legal work on assigned cases
- Aggressively pursue files referred to Staff Counsel by the Claims Department
- Create and maintain documented case-handling strategies
- Develop, organize, and maintain files containing pleadings, briefs, and memorandums
- Prepare and submit timely status reports to claims handlers on significant activities, no greater than 60-day intervals
- Ensure files are properly documented and organized
- Respond promptly to telephone calls and correspondence
- Use or ensure use of case management software for notes, diary, calendar, billing, and assigned case management
- Operate in accordance with company guidelines, procedures, and legal and ethical requirements
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a trial attorney
- Handling of insurance defense work is preferred
- Member of the State Bar
- Maintain all necessary licensing and continuing education requirements
- Required to travel as needed
- Must reside in the Houston, TX area
- Must be able to work remotely
