  • Shape Mission Lane’s M&A and partnership strategy
  • Assess businesses to acquire, partner with, or build in-house
  • Direct outside advisors and bankers
  • Lead opportunities end to end from diligence through negotiation
  • Support potential exit paths, including IPO, acquisition, or another outcome
  • Coordinate partners and aggregate internal exit-readiness efforts
  • Advise the core credit card business on gaps, opportunities, and long-term strategy
  • Be prepared to lead new products, business lines, or acquisitions arising from this work
  • Prepare materials and recommendations for senior leadership and Board strategic decisions

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, or financial markets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present to and inspire confidence among senior leaders and Boards of Directors
  • Ability to lead and deliver results through influence in a matrixed organization without direct authority over every stakeholder
  • Ability to operate effectively amid ambiguity and structure open-ended, white-space problems
  • Track record of stepping into unfamiliar situations, ramping up quickly, and driving measurable impact
  • Experience directing outside consultants and advisors
  • Willingness to execute directly through implementation
  • Based remotely, with flexibility to travel approximately 6–8+ times per year

  • Preferred: leadership experience in a credit or lending business
  • Preferred: experience within a private equity firm, including preparing portfolio companies for exit
  • Preferred: direct IPO-readiness or public-offering experience
  • Preferred: M&A transaction experience from origination through post-close integration in lending or financial services
  • Preferred: relationships across the credit card, consumer lending, or broader fintech industry
  • Preferred: experience in a regulated financial services environment

Demonstrates extensive experience in M&A strategy, investment banking, and financial markets, with a strong ability to lead negotiations and influence stakeholders. Proven track record in advising on credit card business strategies and preparing for IPOs or acquisitions in a regulated financial services environment.
