  • Provide senior-level leadership and guidance for the organization's HR operations
  • Set, enforce, and evaluate legally compliant HR policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Develop and administer HR plans and procedures
  • Support the COO with compensation programs, job descriptions, and compensation analysis
  • Facilitate and monitor the performance evaluation program
  • Develop and maintain personnel policies and the employee handbook
  • Maintain the HRIS, train managers on its use, and manage vendor relationships
  • Lead and support the Cultural and Communication Committee, including annual planning and budget monitoring
  • Improve training, organizational culture, and cross-department relationships
  • Administer benefits, manage third-party vendors and enrollment, and evaluate program cost-effectiveness
  • Manage the relationship and negotiations with the benefits broker
  • Process payroll and resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Manage recruitment for exempt, nonexempt, intern, and temporary workers
  • Write and place advertisements, participate in career fairs, screen and interview candidates, conduct reference checks, extend offers, and conduct onboarding and orientation
  • Develop and maintain employee learning and professional development programs
  • Advise management on employee relations, counseling, discipline, and termination processes
  • Resolve complex employee conflicts
  • Engage outside legal counsel as needed
  • Maintain HR and C3 budgets
  • Maintain department and employee records and reports
  • Create and distribute the monthly HR Connections Newsletter
  • Organize staff meeting updates and offsite all-staff meetings
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on the organization's mission, goals, and talent-management strategy
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Support the organization's overall business goals and mission

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
  • PHR or SPHR certification
  • Eight to ten years of human resource experience in a leadership role
  • Experience supporting and effectively working in a remote work environment
  • Ability to self-motivate, organize, and prioritize workload
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage changing priorities independently
  • Ability to work efficiently and resourcefully with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to use proprietary systems and other technologies
  • Ability to negotiate contracts
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee and client information
  • Physically able to sit for extended periods, operate computer equipment, and participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings
