Job Description
Are you a seasoned Frontend Engineer passionate about performance, user interface excellence, and collaboration? Are you driven by the challenge of crafting outstanding user experiences using modern frontend technologies? If so, join the Jochen Schweizer mydays Group (JSMD) and help us deliver remarkable digital experiences that bring joy to our customers. In this role, you’ll work as a key member of our agile, cross-functional teams, architecting and implementing cutting-edge web interfaces for customer-facing eCommerce applications. Your expertise will contribute to both frontend excellence and, occasionally, backend development, ensuring you’re integral to delivering seamless, scalable solutions.
- Collaborate with an agile, cross-functional team to create customer-facing eCommerce solutions
- Work closely with UX designers to refine applications based on customer feedback
- Extend your reach beyond frontend development by contributing to platform services and backends, including AWS services and micro-frontends
- Influence team goals by contributing to long-term product and technology visions
- Maintain high standards of code quality, collaboration, and performance in a scalable web environment
- Drive innovation by identifying and implementing impactful improvements
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of professional frontend development
- Core Skills: Expert in semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Frameworks: Proficient in React (or similar modern frameworks) for secure, well-tested, and performant software development
- Design Principles: Strong understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and core web concepts
- Testing: Familiarity with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing for frontend applications
- Web Performance: Solid knowledge of web performance metrics (e.g., CrUX, FCP, LCP, CLS, INP)
- Problem-Solving: Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Mentorship: Proven ability to mentor and motivate junior developers
- Backend Collaboration: Familiarity with backend technologies (Node.js, NestJS) and ability to work with backend engineers
- Accessibility: Bonus points for experience with accessibility best practices

Frontend Tech Stack
Our teams work autonomously using a Micro-Frontend architecture, with React 18 as the core dependency. This setup empowers teams to maintain and deploy their services independently, ensuring agility and scalability. We prioritize best practices in performance, accessibility, linting, and testing. Collaborating with our UI/UX team, we’ve developed a custom UI framework built on Bootstrap to enhance efficiency and consistency.
