This role will work closely with the Product Portfolio, Commercial and Manufacturing departments to achieve departmental, divisional and corporate objectives in a collaborative environment across a broad range of technologies and processes. In this role, management of six to eight direct reports is required. Occupational safety, health, fire and environmental regulations shall be complied with as well as contributions to their improvement rendered and compliance within the scope of responsibility enforced.Your TasksManage the product development project portfolio with project prioritization, technical resource allocations and budget control to meet the business goals. Collaboration with the commercial, manufacturing and process technology teams is required to be successfulLead the product development teams, manage direct reports, provide training and drive development of employeesLead new product scale-up and commercialization to address business segment strategies and divisional product roadmapsLead teams to address product quality and customer complaints related to product fit for use issues and non-conformanceIdentify, recommend and manage research and development programs to support the overall business strategy and profitable operationsIdentify, recommend and implement best practices in determining un-met customer and market needsFollow best practices in portfolio and project managementDefine and implement equipment needs for the departmentManage the department budgetsEnsure that recruitment, development and training of personnel in this function meet the organizations short- and long-term objectivesMaintain knowledge of leading edge technology and researchYour ProfileTechnical University degree, e. g. in Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry or Physics.
