Job Description About the Role Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Supply Chain is seeking a
Director, Global Supply Planning Process Standards & Improvement
to lead the design, standardization, governance, and continuous improvement of critical global planning processes.
This role focuses on the
process dimension of the organization , working in close partnership with people and technology teams to drive standardization, scalability, operational excellence, and business value across the global PLAN organization.
The successful candidate will serve as the global process owner for key planning processes and play a pivotal leadership role in shaping future planning capabilities, advancing process maturity, and ensuring alignment across the end-to-end supply planning network that supports more than
$65B in sales ,
$4.5B in global net inventory ,
450+ end users ,
18 manufacturing locations ,
97 network distribution centers , and
150 countries served .
Position Summary The Director Global Supply Planning Process Standards and Improvement is focusing on the process aspect of the organization in close collaboration with the people and technology partners.
The director will be process owner for the following PLAN processes: Supply Network Planning, Production Planning, including Internal and External Manufacturing processes, E2E Planning and Strategic Capacity Management (Long Range Capacity Planning).
Realizing value by process standardization and improvement, in partnership with other functional Excellence teams and by integration across all Planning areas.
Assess process maturity on a regular basis to identify opportunities for improvement.
Monitoring process adherence and define corrective actions in case of deviations.
Maintain a set of up-to-date process documentation and process charts that reflect the actual process.
Key Responsibilities Process Standardization and Governance
Ensures standard approaches across all different processes in scope from a methodology and documentation perspective.
Standardizes and improves planning processes based on their functional expertise, external best practices, and Planning standards.
Designs and establishes new processes, as required, for new modalities and emerging technologies that warrant deviation / modification of standard processes.
Sets-up a robust infrastructure to support ongoing process governance and integrity, reporting, and data accuracy.
Ensures E2E consistency and process alignment across all PLAN functions including aligned Roles & Responsibilities across different (sub)functions.
Performance Management and Continuous Improvement
Accountable for the regular process performance measurement to track business performance, process adherence, maturity gaps and continuous improvement.
Maintains the improvement roadmaps for the different processes in scope as an input to the overall PLAN roadmap and leads initiatives in scope.
Establishes a network of practitioners, to ensure identification and adoption of best practices and supports business objectives through effective design and implementation of projects, and continuous improvement.
In collaboration with the PLAN Technology pillar, identify opportunities for innovation, develop solutions, project proposals and implementation plans.
Analytics, Technology and Planning Excellence
Designs and develops holistic set of KPIs, dashboards and reporting cubes in partnership with the Analytics team that reflect the most up to date business needs – ensure accuracy, regionally consistent deployment, user friendly access and regular reviews and updates.
Collaborates with Enterprise Planning, MedTech Planning Excellence, Supply Chain IT, and digital teams to prioritize PLAN technology roadmap.
Improve and maintain PLAN competencies and skills by working closely with the Training team, develop training and certification plans and deploy/facilitate programs on a regular basis.
Leadership and Talent Development
Actively manage and develop internal talent to build advanced capabilities in PLAN processes to build efficient and highly effective teams.
Additional Responsibilities
On demand project support, J&J taskforce participation and leadership presentations.
Required Qualifications Education
A minimum of a bachelor’s/university degree is required, and advanced degree preferred (master/PhD).
Experience
10 years of general business experience in a health care context and a minimum of 8 years direct Supply Chain Planning experience. A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.
Good understanding of SCOR model, lean and 6 sigma principles and how to apply it in practice is a must.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Strategic perspective and ability to integrate vision across multiple functions.
Proven business acumen in Supply Chain, Commercial and Finance.
Clear understanding of external Supply Chain trends.
Proven experience as a global (PLAN) business process ownership, driving standardization and scalability.
Ability to embed a culture of harmonization and process improvement and value.
Collaborates effectively to achieve performance improvement and value creation.
Operational experience with several of the following processes including master production schedule process, inventory management, supply chain management, scenario analysis, change control, integrated business planning, long range demand/capacity planning, planning systems (e.g. SAP, OMP) and other cross‑functional business processes common to the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry.
Establishes effective communications and common goals and objectives.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, excellent communication, and presentation skills. Strength in interdependent partnering and team management.
Ability to manage multiple initiatives and work in a matrix environment where priorities change rapidly, and tight deadlines exist.
Ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority; build consensus and look for collaboration with people from different departments and all levels.
Negotiation skills and the ability to influence without authority are required.
Coaching and mentoring skills.
Serves as a role model for Credo based decision making.
Travel Requirements
Up to 25–35% travel.
Domestic and international travel required.
