Job Description Innovative Medicine Transcend is a global business transformation program that will modernize our foundational Supply Chain processes and harmonize them into one “clean” ERP as a standardized platform (SAP S4 Hana). The program will simplify the Pharm ERP landscape from 7 to 1, standardizing data and processes to create a cost‑effective, fit‑for‑purpose digital backbone that will enable us to support the Pharm business with agility.
The Vendor Master Global Template Owner (GTO) drives global standardization of the ERP Vendor Master and leads the design of the Vendor Master MDG governance process. The role collaborates with SMEs across multiple functions within Innovative Medicines, as well as with Process and Technical Leads from other pillars and dependent systems, throughout the Discovery, Mobilization, and Solution Confirmation phases. It works closely with the Deployment team, which builds, tests and implements the MDG governance process, and extracts, transforms and loads Vendor Master data from various legacy ERP systems into the SAP S/4HANA ERP platform. The position reports into the Transcend Master Data Template Lead.
You Will Be Responsible For
Own and lead the end‑to‑end standardized Vendor Master data design and data management process, ensuring alignment with enterprise data strategy and strategic initiatives across design, execution, and deployment.
Act as the global authority and single point of accountability for the Vendor Master domain, partnering with enterprise data stewards and cross‑functional workstreams including Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Finance, and Quality.
Partner with the IMSC Data Governance team to define, align, and maintain SAP S/4HANA metadata standards, ensuring consistency with cross‑system governance principles, enterprise data standards, and business requirements.
Lead and facilitate cross‑functional workshops during Discovery, Mobilization, and Solution Confirmation to collect, challenge, and translate business requirements into scalable master data solutions.
Drive the incorporation of business, compliance, and regulatory requirements into the Vendor Master data model and MDG governance design, ensuring robust and sustainable data processes.
Define, embed, and maintain global data standards within MDG validation and derivation rules to strengthen data quality, consistency, compliance, and scalable governance across Vendor Master processes.
Identify and highlight changes between the new template and the current state to drive change management.
Lead master data alignment and integration efforts across critical enterprise platforms beyond Transcend, including Know Your Supplier, CFIN, Enterprise, and connected systems such as LIMS, MES, OMP, and Comet.
Provide strategic business leadership for Vendor Master migration, including data profiling, relevancy rules, cleansing strategies, and data quality rule definition to enable successful migration and long‑term data integrity.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred in Business or Information Systems, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
10+ years of experience leading data governance, master data management, and/or data quality initiatives within complex global organizations.
Hands‑on experience with SAP MDG, data quality tools, data lakes, and metadata management solutions.
Proven track record of delivering large‑scale SAP and data transformation programs, including data migration and cutover activities.
Strong knowledge of data integrity principles, internal controls, and validation and quality requirements for computerized systems.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams, influence senior stakeholders, and drive decision‑making in a matrixed environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable data outcomes.
Strong presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to diverse stakeholder groups.
This is a global role and may require travel to support business engagement, up to 20%.
