Overview

In this role you will contribute to DePuy Synthes TechOps by developing and validating world-class manufacturing and assembly processes for implantable devices. You will work on cross-functional projects from concept to launch, ensuring product quality, cost targets, and scalability. You’ll translate design concepts into manufacturable solutions and support external manufacturers and suppliers. This is a hands-on position that combines design-for-manufacturability, prototyping, and process validation to enable successful product introductions.

Verantwortungsbereiche

  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and External Manufacturers to develop new product designs and manufacturing solutions for soft tissue and shoulder reconstruction implants
  • Define and assess manufacturability of designs, including design reviews to ensure proper TD/Tolerancing and transfer to manufacturing
  • Manage prototype manufacturing for new product development and support prototype development for design trials
  • Provide cost of goods estimates and assess feature and cost tradeoffs during the design phase
  • Develop manufacturing strategies that include supplier selection and sourcing decisions to meet cost and schedule targets
  • Offer technical support to external manufacturers for process development, validation, and stabilization; support ERP and Quality System assessments
  • Mentor entry-level engineers and oversee suppliers to optimize manufacturability and create production documentation

Zentrale Anforderungen

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in medical device or pharmaceutical environments preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a varied workload
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • Design for Manufacturability and development processes
  • Tolerance analysis, FEA, DOE
  • Prototype development and testing
