Our mission as Backend Guild is to provide JOIN’s customers and their candidates with robust features, stable business flows, security, performance, resiliency.We strongly believe that Backend engineering should be collaborative with Platform, DevOps, Product and Frontend teams.
We take care of our guild’s tools by using our own architecture based on Clean Architecture, strict linters, code generators, coding conventions, code snippets and service templates to spend less time doing mundane work. We take pride in working through TDD, making sure all our services are covered with tests and that our releases are always reliable and stable.
Tasks
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers and DevOps/Platform teams to create meaningful features for our customers through our custom-made work methodology Agile SDLC/Kanban
- Conduct peer code reviews and attend project retrospectives to discuss and execute improvements as a team
- You don’t just implement requirements, you help to define the requirements and propose the best way to achieve the team goals
- As a role that works cross-functional across other teams, you are expected to demonstrate great communication, ownership, accountability, and team play
- Self-independent in task implementation, we offer help whenever it’s needed, but we aim to teach people how to get the information they need on their own
- Participate in technical retrospectives to discuss testing culture, architectural solutions, automation topics, coding standards, and many more!
- You are not “just” a coder — you are empowered to and always thinking about our product value that you can bring and how to improve the experience of our customers
Requirements
- 3+ years of backend development experience in total (any strongly typed language or TS)
- Experience with any RDBMS (either raw queries or via ORM)
- Good unit/integration testing experience
- Knowledge about message brokers (SNS/RabbitMQ/Kafka/Google PubSub/etc…)
- You thrive in dynamic environments and can easily adjust to changing priorities
- You take full responsibility for your work and can be counted on to deliver projects on time
- You are eager to grow and learn, picking up new skills and technologies quickly
- You regularly evaluate your own performance and are open to constructive feedback to continuously grow both personally and professionally
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with GraphQL
- Experience in GCP or AWS
- Experience with gRPC framework and proto buffers
- Good understanding of SOLID principles
