Overview
To strengthen our strategic presence in Germany, we are now recruiting a results-oriented Deputy Country Manager. Reporting to the Country Manager, you will assist in driving market expansion, executing local strategies, and building robust local operations. You will work closely with the leadership team to uphold Joybuy’s core principles of quality, innovation and premium customer experience, and fuel sustainable business growth across Germany.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Support the formulation and execution of Germany market strategies, ensuring full alignment with Joybuy’s vision and long-term growth goals;
- Explore high-potential business opportunities across retail, logistics, supply chain and strategic partnerships in the local market;
- Assist with competitive analysis, market positioning and strategic projects to consolidate Joybuy’s position as a key e-commerce player in Germany.
Commercial Growth
- Drive revenue growth by developing and maintaining partnerships with local brands, merchants, suppliers and retail ecosystem participants;
- Assist in rolling out localized products and services tailored to German market demands;
- Cultivate solid connections with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry associations, suppliers and tech partners.
Operational Management
- Support team building, organizational structuring and daily management of local business units, covering e-commerce category management, operations and inventory management;
- Oversee operational performance to ensure compliance with Joybuy’s standards for efficiency, reliability and customer satisfaction.
Financial Stewardship
- Assist in setting financial targets, budgets and forecasts for the German entity;
- Monitor P&L performance, drive profitability and support steady business expansion;
- Participate in investment planning, risk control and capital allocation for local operations.
Talent & Culture Development
- Support recruitment, coaching and management of high-performance teams at all levels;
- Foster a positive corporate culture rooted in Joybuy’s core values: customer-centricity, efficiency, integrity and innovation;
- Promote effective cross-cultural communication and alignment between local teams and China headquarters.
Regulatory & Governance
- Ensure all local operations fully comply with German laws, regulations and corporate governance requirements;
- Proactively manage risks relating to data protection, labor laws and cross-border trade compliance;
- Assist in public affairs, stakeholder liaison and government relationship management.
Basic Requirements
- Solid senior management experience in e-commerce, retail, supply chain or tech-driven related industries;
- Proven experience supporting P&L management, business scaling and revenue growth in Germany or wider European markets;
- In-depth knowledge of Germany’s commerce landscape, consumer trends and market competition;
- Strong capability to collaborate with and lead cross-functional, diverse teams;
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to engage with senior stakeholders, regulators and business partners;
- Working experience in multinational companies.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in launching or scaling international brands in Germany or Europe;
- Familiarity with e-commerce and trade dynamics at Germany, as well as diverse business cultures;
- Working background in high-growth technology companies;
- Relevant experience in omnichannel retail, marketplace operation or intelligent fulfilment network management.
