Securities Services - Depositary Controls – Associate (all genders)

Overall objective is to fulfil JPMSE’s obligation when acting as a Depositary for German investment funds in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The performed checks are vital to minimize the risk of a fund manager inadvertently investing into securities and other assets not permitted under all pertinent requirements and provisions of the applicable laws and regulations, in particular Capital Investment Code or the fund’s investment policy. Where appropriate the administrator is also responsible for performing manual checks in line with and as specified in the SOPs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performing all relevant tasks and checks in the frequency and according to the standard operating procedure (SOP).
• To comply with depositary responsibilities and ensure only substantiated and correct invoices are debited on the fund accounts.
• Completing spot checks on fund expenses on a monthly basis.
• Ensuring compliance checks are performed daily for all funds; this is an automated process.
• Investigating root causes for potential violations.
• Setting up accounts and closing accounts within the system.
• Instructing rule amendments as appropriate.
• Identifying and executing process improvements; provide guidance and support on key process and technology initiatives to the business.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• Fluency in English.
• Good knowledge of EU and German Investment Law.
• Good knowledge of Securities Lending processing.
• Basic understanding of fund accounting/book-keeping.
• Knowledge of custody and accounting systems like COSMIC, WINS, and Enterprise.
