Über JUNI
JUNI is building the leading startup ecosystem for science-based spin-offs in Berlin and Brandenburg. We connect universities, startups, corporates, investors and policymakers – and create the spaces, programmes and partnerships that translate research into successful companies.
Our events are where that ecosystem becomes tangible: our formats bring founders, researchers, partners and decision-makers into the same room. We are looking for a (Senior) Project Manager Events who shapes what these formats achieve – and who holds together everyone working on them, across our Business, Science and Ecosystem Partners and across every team inside JUNI. Your first major project: the next JUNI Future Week in 2027, our flagship format.
You work closely with our Event Manager, who runs operational delivery and on-site execution. You own the concept, the stakeholders and the budget, and report directly to our Head of Communications.
Deine Aufgaben
Concept and event strategy
- Ownership of the concept for our flagship events – JUNI Future Week and Science Day: what each format is for, whom it is for, and what it should achieve
- Developing programme and dramaturgy: themes, formats, speakers, the arc of the day and the moments that make people want to come back
- Owning audience development and registrations together with your Comms colleagues. Together you decide: who needs to be in the room, and how we get them there
- Defining what success looks like per event and evaluating against it, so each edition builds on the last rather than repeating it
- Developing our event portfolio: which formats we keep, which we drop, and where a new one is worth building
- Ad-hoc support for partner events that need project planning and management expertise – you bring structure where our partners need it
Coordination across stakeholders and departments
- The central point of contact for all parties involved in an event – Business Partners, Science Partners and Ecosystem Partners
- Translating partner interests into formats that work for our audiences
- Coordinating across JUNI: partnerships, communications, programme and leadership – you bring the right people in at the right time and keep everyone working from one plan
- Speaker and guest management: identifying and approaching speakers, moderators and high-profile guests
Planning and budget
- Owning the project plan across the event cycle: milestones, responsibilities, timelines and dependencies
- Managing the event budget: planning spend, tracking it and reporting reliably against the frame set with leadership
- Selecting and briefing agencies, venues and production partners, and assuring quality throughout
- Building the standards and templates that make each next event faster and better than the one before
Dein Profil
- 5+ years of experience conceiving and delivering events – ideally formats with several hundred participants, a stage programme and substantial partner involvement
- Demonstrable strength in concept work: you have built event formats, not only run them
- Excellent stakeholder management: you are comfortable with partners, senior decision-makers and colleagues alike, and you bring divergent interests to a decision
- Strong project management skills: you plan structurally, keep track of many moving parts and see problems before they become urgent
- You turn a continuous stream of ideas into disciplined plans – prioritising what will have impact and setting aside what won't
- You flag problems early and directly instead of working around them, and you find a new route fast when the first one closes
- Experience managing event budgets and steering external agencies and service providers
- Interest in innovation, startups and the science environment
- Fluent German and English
- Experience with associations, public institutions or political stakeholders is a plus
Wir bieten
- A role with real ownership – our flagship formats are yours to shape, from the underlying idea to the final evaluation
- Direct contact with founders, researchers, leading companies and decision-makers
- A motivated team with a hands-on spirit and flat hierarchies
- Flexible working hours and hybrid working
- A modern working environment across several locations in Berlin
- Compensation that reflects experience and responsibility, complemented by a performance-based component
