(Senior) Finance Controller (all genders) in Berlin

JustPlay is looking for a (Senior) Finance Controller (all genders) to join our growing Finance team. Over the past years, we've grown significantly, and we're now backed by NCSoft as our strategic shareholder, with ambitious plans to keep growing. As we scale, our finance function needs to scale with us, and we're looking for a (Senior) Controller who owns the numbers that steer our business: shareholder reporting, budget and forecast, and the KPIs leadership relies on every week. You will directly report to the Associate Director of Finance and you'll be the finance partner for our core revenue and cost drivers and help build a controlling function that scales with the company. This is a growth role: you'll start by mentoring our FP&A team member, and in the mid-term take over leadership of the controlling function.

Job responsibilities

• Shareholder reporting (NCSoft): Deliver the monthly management P&L and the quarterly consolidated balance sheet and P&L on time and in the shareholder's templates. Provide preliminary figures within a few days of month-end. Keep a clean bridge between management P&L and statutory figures.

• Budget and forecast: Own the annual budget and a rolling forecast. Turn the overhead budget into a working budget-control process, with cost-center owners, monthly actual-vs-budget reviews and follow-up actions.

• Business partnering: Be the finance counterpart for Revenue Generation / Ad Monetisation, User Acquisition, User Payments (payouts and rewards) and the G&A cost centers, with profitability as the focus.

• Cost control: Build levers and tracking for the largest cost blocks: personnel, SaaS, cloud, consulting, and payment fees (PayPal, FX).

• Analysis: Run variance analysis against budget, forecast and weekly flash, build scenario models, and prepare quarterly business reviews.

• Data integrity: Establish Metabase/Looker as a reliable source of finance KPIs. Reconcile BI data against invoices and the ledger, own the KPI definitions and remove double counts and manual add-ons.

• Liquidity: Work with Treasury on the liquidity forecast (network payout timing, UA spend, user cash-outs).

• Interface with accounting: Work with the Accounting Lead on the in-house month-end close, including accruals input, cut-off, and cost center and chart of accounts design in DATEV.

• Team: Mentor and review the work of our junior FP&A team member, and grow into the leadership of the controlling function in the mid-term.

Job requirements

• 6+ years in controlling or FP&A, with at least 2 years in a scale-up or digital B2C business; mobile apps, gaming or ad-tech is strongly preferred.

• Proven experience reporting to a corporate or strategic shareholder or a PE owner, including multi-entity consolidation and delivering to external templates under deadline.

• End-to-end ownership of a full budget and forecast cycle, including building driver-based models.

• Self-sufficient with data: hands-on with a BI tool (Metabase/Looker) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets

• Solid accounting foundation (accruals, FX, revenue recognition), with enough IFRS/HGB knowledge to reconcile management and statutory figures.

• Fluent English (written and verbal). German is a strong plus, given our work with PwC, DATEV and the local entities.

Nice-to-have

• Understanding of Ad monetisation and User Acquisition economics: network revenue and payout terms, eCPM, ROAS/LTV, and marketing spend cycles.

• Experience with an Asian corporate parent or group reporting calendar

• Hands-on experience with DATEV, Moss or Embat

• Experience building a controlling function or KPI governance from scratch

• Familiarity with multi-currency (USD/EUR) payment flows and FX effects

• First experience mentoring or leading finance team members
