Medical Writer / Clinical Evaluation – Medical Devices (m/f/d)

For a company in the medical device industry, we are looking for an experienced Freelance Medical Writer / Clinical Evaluation Specialist (m/f/d) to provide long-term, project-based support in clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation and updating of Clinical Evaluation Reports (CER/CEV)

• Conduct structured literature searches

• Review and critically evaluate relevant scientific and clinical literature

• Support the preparation and documentation of clinical data for regulatory and technical documentation

• Contribute to recurring and annual clinical documentation activities

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders from Clinical, Regulatory and Medical functions

Clinical Focus

The products are therapeutic medical devices used primarily in areas such as:

• Urology, including the treatment of stone diseases and tissue-related indications

• Orthopaedic applications

Specific product or device knowledge is not mandatory. Appropriate product onboarding will be provided.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in Medical Writing and/or Clinical Evaluation of Medical Devices

• Strong experience in literature research and literature evaluation

• Experience in preparing or contributing to Clinical Evaluation Reports (CER/CEV)

• Good understanding of clinical documentation within the medical device environment

• Medical or scientific background

• A degree in Human Medicine / medical qualification is strongly preferred

• Independent and structured working style

• Flexibility to support the project on an on-demand basis

Project Details

• Start: January 2027

• Workload: approx. 10–15 hours per month on average

• Location: Remote

• Duration: Long-term collaboration intended

• Workload model: Flexible, on-demand support with varying workload

• Periods of increased short-term workload may be followed by several weeks without project activity

• Recurring annual reporting activities will form part of the assignment
