This position reports to the Sr Director of Chemicals & APIs Procurement, and is based in Rotkreutz, Zug, Switzerland.

What You Will Do

The Director of Procurement, Base Chemicals will play a pivotal role in understanding business strategies and developing global category strategies aimed to deliver year on year value and innovation sustainability. You will collaborate with R&D and Brand Development within the existing Innovation procurement structure to optimize external innovation and unlock value and efficiency throughout the product development process. This is a people leader position supporting buyers who manage approximately 0.7Bn Spend, support global NPD projects, deliver against sustainability targets, and increase resilience in our product portfolio while working closely with quality and R&D functions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide leadership to Procurement teams to develop strategies that will take Kenvue to the next level of competitiveness.
  2. Develop and manage key supplier relationships to maximize value creation and improve supplier performance.
  3. Collaborate with global R&D and supply chain leaders managing performance in supplier relationship management (SRM).
  4. Develop forward-looking sourcing strategies that include recommendations of core suppliers and potential challengers.
  5. Attract, equip, develop, and coach a dedicated team focused on category management.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, PPM, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to ensure seamless execution of the innovation pipeline.
  7. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights on strategic supplier engagement and procurement sourcing strategies.
  8. Cultivate a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in direct materials Procurement (ideally with chemicals).
  • Leadership: Ability to inspire and motivate teams, set clear direction, and lead by example.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Broad understanding of Supply Chain Management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to ensure cost control and process improvements.
  • Mindset for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of procurement principles.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to global sourcing.
  • Understanding of financial metrics, budgeting, and cost management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.

Desired Qualifications

  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving results.
  • Solid experience in the personal care (FMCG) and/or generics pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading global teams through organizational transformations.
  • MBA, master’s or similar advanced educational degree.
