Field Service Technician – North Germany (Bremen Region)

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to support the operation and maintenance of renewable energy facilities across North Germany, with a primary focus on the Bremen region. The successful candidate will carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on CHP (Combined Heat and Power) and biogas installations, ensuring maximum plant reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on CHP and biogas plants.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control system faults, including generator sets and balance of plant equipment.
  • Diagnose, analyse, repair, and maintain OEM equipment installed at customer sites.
  • Carry out both minor and major overhauls of engines and associated plant equipment.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to the Service Area Manager (SAM) and assist with labour and parts estimates for maintenance activities.
  • Prepare and review materials required for scheduled maintenance, proactively identifying additional parts requirements where necessary.
  • Maintain service vehicle inventory, tooling, and spare parts to ensure operational readiness.
  • Act as the primary technical contact for customers on site, ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of their facilities.
  • Complete detailed service reports following each visit and submit weekly expense reports.
  • Ensure all sites are maintained in a clean, safe, and organised condition.

Candidate Profile

We're looking for a hands-on engineer with strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to field service.

  • Technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3–5 years' experience in industrial maintenance, field service, power generation, or renewable energy.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience working with PLCs, HMIs, inverters, transducers, and industrial control systems.
  • Knowledge of analogue and digital signals, including 4–20 mA and 0–10 V systems.
  • Good engine, mechanical, and hydraulic maintenance knowledge.
  • Competent in the use of diagnostic and troubleshooting tools.
  • Full, valid driving licence.
  • Fluent in both German and English.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across North Germany.
