Systems Engineer (m/f/d) in Weilburg

Responsibilities

• Development of leading-edge technology to advance KLA’s metrology systems with a focus on light sources
• Drive system characterization and error budget creation/analysis
• Derive clear actions to improve module and system performance
• Hands‑on laboratory work to build, run and iterate complex optical set‑ups
• Support in‑house production and system integration; support customers and suppliers with technical feedback
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams (optics, mechanics, electronics) in an international environment

Minimum Qualifications

• Qualifications Master’s degree (or PhD) in Physics / Optical Engineering or a comparable technical field recommended
• 3+ year’s of relevant experience in system development and experimental engineering
• Background in plasma or laser physics is highly beneficial
• Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB / Python)
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset; ability to turn complex data into decisions
• Sense of urgency – strong desire for short time to result
• Confident communication skills in English; comfortable working across cultures and disciplines
• Occasional domestic and international travel, including to the United States, may be required as part of this role (approx. 10–15%)
• EU work permit required
