Overview
In this role, you advance high-precision opto-mechanical design to support laser-sustained-plasma light sources for semiconductor tooling. You will work within a cross-functional team to deliver robust assemblies, manufacturable drawings, and reliable prototypes, contributing to improved optical performance and reliability. You’ll engage with suppliers to optimize materials, processes, and lead times, while validating designs through simulations and testing. This is a hands-on role with meaningful impact on precision metrology systems used in cutting-edge electronics.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Design and advance opto-mechanical assemblies for LSP light sources based on specs
- Perform high-precision optomechanical engineering including tolerance and thermal-expansion analyses
- Create 3D models, manufacturable drawings, and maintain BOMs
- Assemble, align, test, and troubleshoot prototypes on test benches with internal partners
- Specify materials, surfaces, joining processes, and inspection criteria for incoming goods QC
- Collaborate with suppliers on technical details, cost, and lead times to shorten procurement cycles
- Conduct FEM simulations and tolerance analyses to de-risk designs
- Contribute to design reviews, safety testing, and prepare technical docs and presentations
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Completed degree in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Physical Engineering or a comparable field
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in mechanical/precision engineering, ideally with opto-mechanical design focus
- Hands-on experience building, aligning, and testing prototypes; metalworking experience is an advantage
- Solid understanding of precision fits, tolerance stack-ups, and thermal behavior of optical assemblies
- Proficient with 3D CAD Creo and/or SolidWorks and related databases (Intralink or Enovia)
- Experience with FEM and tolerance analyses and a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach
- Fluent in English; German language a bonus
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be required
