Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

The Field Application Engineer is responsible for supporting all aspects of customer qualification, responding to customer queries and visiting the customer to follow up progress. Some key activities will include:

• Qualifying a customer: Together with the field team obtaining filed acceptance on customer’s sites.
• Sales support: Providing answers to questions from the customer. Visiting the customer to progress the opportunity through discussion and presentation.
• Develop information sources: Developing contacts at customers, suppliers, analysts etc that can be used as sources of market or competitor intelligence
• Product development: Suggesting potential upgrade opportunities. Identifying weaknesses in the product based on customer needs
• Travelling internationally up to 50%

Minimum Qualifications

• University degree in a technology field
• professional experience in the engineering field, ideally in a semiconductor industry
• knowledge of how semiconductors are manufactured, the processing of semiconductors by plasma CVD, PVD or Etch and semiconductor packaging
• experience of wafer processing gained at either an equipment vendor or wafer fab would be advantageous
• enthusiastic personality with a positive attitude
• excellent attention to detail
• ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines as individual
• ability to work across all levels within the company, and across regions
• excellent communication skills in English, German is an advantage
