ph3Position Summary /h3pWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Demurrage/Contracts Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and resolving demurrage claims, ensuring timely and accurate calculation and settlement of demurrage charges; and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders involved. Alongside their Demurrage duties, the successful candidate will also be responsible for drawing up and sending out Sales Contracts for both the Danish and German refineries. This role requires a strong understanding of shipping, logistics, demurrage principles, exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; as well as a good understanding of the structure and relevant clauses involved in Sales Contracts. /ph3Key Responsibilities /h3pThe successful candidate will be expected to: /ph3Demurrage Calculation and Analysis /h3ulliAccurately calculate demurrage charges for various shipments. /liliAnalyse demurrage data to identify trends and potential areas for cost savings. /liliEnsure compliance with contractual terms and industry regulations. /li /ulh3Claims Management /h3ulliReview and verify demurrage claims received from Suppliers, Owners, and Receivers. /liliPrepare and submit demurrage claims to Counterparties. /liliNegotiate and resolve disputed claims in a timely and professional manner. /li /ulh3Contract Management /h3ulliTyping up of Refinery Spot Contracts. /liliMethodical tracking of Contracts to ensure all internal departments have authorised and checked the contracts prior to sending out. /liliRequesting Purchase Contracts from Third parties and ensuring all relevant departments within KP have received a copy. /liliMaintaining strong document management practice in the logging of contracts and all related documents and correspondence. /li /ulh3Documentation and Reporting /h3ulliMaintain detailed and organized records of all demurrage claims and settlements. /liliGenerate regular reports on demurrage activities and performance metrics. /li /ulh3Stakeholder Communication /h3ulliLiaise with internal teams (e.g. Operations, Finance, Credit) to gather and validate information required for Demurrage calculations/Contracts. /liliCommunicate effectively with external parties (e.g., Owners and Third-party companies) to resolve demurrage issues. /liliConduct regular meetings with stakeholders to discuss demurrage trends and address concerns. /liliAuthorising and tracking of Demurrage payments/liaising with Accounts. /li /ulh3Process Improvement /h3ulliIdentify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in demurrage management. /liliCollaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline demurrage-related workflows. /liliStay updated on industry developments and regulatory changes impacting demurrage practices. /li /ulh3Qualifications, Skills and Experience /h3ulliMinimum of 3 years of experience in demurrage, shipping or logistics. /liliStrong analytical and numerical skills, and attention to detail. /liliExcellent negotiation and communication skills. /liliProficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel. /liliFamiliarity with shipping documentation and industry regulations. /liliAbility to work independently and as part of a team. /liliStrong organisational and time management skills. /liliExcellent communication and networking skills /liliAbility to work under time pressure. /liliGood knowledge of Charterparties and GTC’s. /li /ulh3Advantageous skills and experience /h3ulliExperience with demurrage management software. /liliKnowledge of international trade and shipping terms (Incoterms). /liliPrevious experience in a similar industry or role. /liliAdditional languages such as Danish, German or French. /li /ulh3About the Klesch Group and its culture /h3pThe Klesch Group is an entrepreneurial industrial commodities business, focused on the refining and trading of energy and raw materials, including oil, chemicals and associated products.
