JOB OVERVIEW

The Scientific Client Relationship Manager is part of the Internal Sales Team – an internal global team that is responsible for all activities from client request to order management. The Scientific Client Relationship Manager is responsible for coordinating proposal activities, i.e. determine proposal requirements for the client, liaise with the technical groups for input to the proposal, developing a proposal document and to submit a compliant and responsive proposal for the Food and Food Contact Division, including follow up with the client.

YOUR TASKS

  • Guide the proposal through its process, facilitate derivations, collect necessary information from all stakeholders in order to effectively author proposals for the Food and Food Contact Division.
  • Collect all available information to evaluate client’s request (will service be provided, are capacities available).
  • Define scope with the client or collect information on client’s request from other knoell-internal stakeholders. Discover the exact client’s needs and requirements and offer solutions to them through knoell’s service portfolio.
  • Clarify the task descriptions of the proposal (in accordance with the technical units, with legal and considering administrative and commercial aspects), including assumptions and deliverables.
  • Liaise with stakeholders on budget estimates, required skills and timelines, as well as prices.
  • Ensure that the proposal preparation follows the defined timeline and ensure feedback from relevant stakeholders (remind if necessary) to guarantee timely proposal sending to the client.
  • Combine all the relevant information to create a proposal (set up Project Request Form in ERP system) that is of high quality, consistent and plausible and follows internal style guide and standard rules for proposal.
  • Review the proposal document according to internal standards and from sales perspective.
  • Assure that the proposal is complete, understandable and does not leave room for interpretation of the service offered.
  • Accountable for ensuring the proposal fits the client’s needs and requirements and assures the correctness of information given in the proposal.
  • Ensures a timely and efficient process, staying within budget for proposal preparation step.
  • Send proposal to the client and follow up on proposal with the client after the proposal has been sent out.
  • Document client’s response to the proposal for possible future improvements.
  • As an internal service provider, understand the business needs of the Divisions and Departments, as well as Business Lines and Legal Entities in close collaboration with the stakeholders.
  • Keep in close contact with the regulatory and technical developments in the respective area of responsibility (by participating in meetings and receiving updates on developments).
  • Support the creation of standard proposal templates for the area of responsibility.
  • Support the creation of questionnaires for the client to easily gather information relevant for provision of knoell’s service.
  • Working on the optimization of processes within the Sales Departments and with the technical Divisions and Departments to ensure an efficient proposal preparation and smooth hand-over between different stakeholders.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Minimum requirement is a bachelor\’s degree in Chemistry or Physical Sciences; Business Administration background is a plus or equivalent education/experience.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Knowledge of Food and/or Food Contact Regulations, with a basic understanding of relevant technical concepts.
  • 1.5 to 2 years of work experience in the regulatory field is preferred.
  • Strong grasp of sales-related topics, including effective communication with clients and the ability to craft proposals that align with both technical/regulatory and financial/legal perspectives.
  • Capability to comprehend and address the precise needs and requirements of clients, extending beyond technical/regulatory considerations. Proficiency in extracting this information through client interactions is crucial.
  • Preferred experience with proposal generation or ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with the technical aspects of proposal setup and project maintenance in Kermit, coupled with a grasp of legal and financial principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, including a strong professional conversation etiquette, and a service-oriented approach with clients, reflecting a sales-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient use of MS-Office tools.
