For one of our clients we are looking for a Consultant ArcGIS/QGIS .
Project name: GIS analyses for renewables – Wind Germany
Project description: The project aims to develop wind farms. Through the use of geographical information systems (GIS), the suitability of areas for wind projects, especially in Germany, is to be analysed, evaluated and graphically processed in the first phase of project development.
Tasks:
- Planning of GIS-related activities in connection with the project development of onshore wind projects in Germany.
- Analysis and evaluation of areas using geographical information systems (GIS) – in particular ArcGIS in relation to wind projects in Germany.
- Programs to be used: ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro and related products.
- GIS-based Evaluation of project approaches to support management decision-making.
- Determination of the profitability of wind farms based on own expertise and client specifications.
- Creation of maps, project files and layouts in the planning and implementation of wind farms.
- Preparation of lease agreements. The client gives approval before they are used.
- Creation of materials for public participation, information events and appointments with authorities. The client gives approval before they are used.
- Creation and maintenance of geodata.
- Ordering cadastral data from the relevant offices and processing them for further use based on client’s own expertise and specifications.
- Preparation of project documentation.
- Determination of repowering potential of the plant portfolio and purchase based on its own expertise and client specifications.
- Administration and further development of client’s geodata infrastructure and In-house geo-applications based on our own expertise and client specifications.
- Required programming languages: Python and R, e.g. for GIS automations.
- Management of GIS databases and data quality checks.
- Implementation of approval procedures according to BImschG by GIS.
Must Have:
- ArcGIS or QGIS are mandatory, ArcGIS preferred.
- German is important, as communication with land registry offices is necessary here.
Nice to have:
- Experience in renewable energies.
Location: remote, 1-2x month project meeting in Düsseldorf.
